It was announced yesterday evening that Kostas Mitroglou had extended his contract until Summer 2017. One of the main points was that the minimum release clause (previously €7.5m) had been removed meaning that any club wanting the striker had to negotiate for a transfer.
It may not change the fact that a club from Germany (most probably) or perhaps England will be after our player and may even get to transfer him but it won't be for the pittance that was possible previously.
